September 16, 2026 · 5 min read
Stay safe and avoid surprises. Here are the essential rules for driving a rented golf cart around Los Suenos and Herradura.
License and Age Requirements
Drivers must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license. International and Costa Rican licenses are both accepted. Only the registered driver should operate the cart.
Where You Can Drive
Golf carts may be driven throughout the Los Suenos Resort property, including the marina, beach club, and golf course areas, as well as local streets in Herradura. Carts are not permitted on Route 34 or other highways.
Safety Tips
Keep all passengers seated with arms and legs inside the cart. Obey resort speed limits, yield to pedestrians, and never drive after drinking. Children should sit in the back seats with an adult.
Parking and Charging
Park only in designated areas and set the parking brake. Plug the cart in overnight at your accommodation using the included charger so it is ready for the next day.
